“I am extremely pleased to announce that Kerri has been named chief financial officer of ICS,” said ICS President and CEO Regina Martinez-Estela. “For the past several years, Kerri has been acting as the chief financial officer of ICS, overseeing budget and finance, meeting with the Board of Directors Finance Subcommittee, overseeing audits and compliance issues and helping me with strategy and forecasting. To officially name her CFO is an honor. As with most leaders at ICS, Kerri will continue to wear many hats, and to continue applying her analytical skills to improve processes, organize our work and lead us to a place of financial health. She is an accomplished woman and we are extremely lucky to have someone as multitalented as Kerri as a leader at ICS. Kerri excels in strategy, operations and finance and has helped ICS with her depth of knowledge, ability to see a better, more efficient path and her ever-present sense of humor. I look forward to continuing to work toward a thriving ICS with her.”

“ICS is such a wonderful organization – resilient, mission driven, and filled with amazing people,” said Ms. O’Neill. “I have learned so much in my 18 years working here, and am grateful to have found a place where I can apply my skills to make a difference. I am honored that Regina and the Board are confident in my abilities to fill this role. I look forward to guiding the financial strategy of the organization as we grow and deliver on our mission of supporting adults with physical disabilities to remain in the community.”

About Independence Care System (ICS)

ICS is a nonprofit organization founded in 2000 as a pioneering, innovative community of professionals dedicated to serving people who, prior to ICS, were often forced to spend their lives in institutions.

People with disabilities have turned to ICS for more than 20 years because of our expert, disability-competent staff who help them to improve their health and avoid hospitalizations, achieve goals, improve their quality of life, and be active members in the community. Our foundational pillars — health, mobility and independence — ensure for true health equity for people with disabilities so they can thrive while receiving the quality care they deserve.

As the first and only Health Home program in New York State with specialized expertise in supporting people with physical disabilities, we have developed a model of care designed to address the vast health disparities experienced by our members and those in underserved communities. We continue to work alongside of our members, and advocate for their specialized care, because we have seen the effects of a healthcare system that fails to address their needs. ICS offers disability-expert care coordination, educational and recreational programming that enriches members’ lives, and is a premier provider of specialized mobility assessments for wheelchair users through our comprehensive On a Roll wheelchair program.
