Career Opportunities: A Diverse, Rewarding Community

Working at ICS is more than just a job. It’s a dynamic, evolving, and rewarding career. It’s being immersed in a special, mission-driven community that transcends that of any other organization.
Our mission is to support the needs of people with disabilities so they can thrive, living independently in their communities while maintaining the highest level of health. Staff helps achieve that through strong collaboration, communication and teamwork. We are a family, acting to support our own.

How We Care for Our Colleagues

We know that staff members who are healthy and happy bring their very best to our members and our community, so we work hard to provide a wide array of benefits to support our colleagues. In addition to affordable and high-quality health, dental, vision, and life insurance, some of our more remarkable benefits include:

  • More than 5 weeks of paid time off per year, plus 11 paid holidays.
  • An extremely flexible work environment that may include – depending on your role and the needs of your team – telecommuting and/or flex time.
  • Tuition assistance to support your professional growth
  • Up to 8 weeks of disability leave at your full salary to care for yourself in the event of an illness or accident
  • Paid parental leave

Making A Difference, Doing What You Love

We know that a diverse workforce that reflects the community we serve is vital to our success. We therefore strongly encourage people with disabilities, people of color, veterans, and recent immigrants to submit an application. ICS is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.

Meet Our Staff

From our earliest days, our staff has been richly diverse in culture, language, ethnicity, race, geography and ability, and includes leaders of the disability rights movement. In our offices Spanish-, Russian-, Mandarin-, and English-speaking staff work side by side, doing all they can to make sure that our members get the care and services they need to live independently, in their best possible health, in their community.

Pierrette Cesar
Member Services Manager

“Pierrette is great. She is very responsive to the needs of members and staff. If someone needs assistance she will put what she’s doing on hold for a few minutes and help you in the best way she can.” Pierrette as described by an ICS colleague.

Christy Cruz
Outreach Associate

Christy is also founder of the Women’s Empowerment Initiative, one of a number of support groups at ICS.

Julio Gonzalez
Outreach Specialist

“Every day when I get home, I know I’ve helped someone. Our members thank me, they bless me, they hug me sometimes – it’s a great feeling.”

Marcus Johnson
Advocacy Specialist

“We learn in social work school how the work affects you, and they have all these terms like ‘transference.’ But when you’re going through something with a member you don’t use the terminology, you just know you’re going through it with them.”
