Loreen has spent her entire career working with and on behalf of people with disabilities. At ICS, she oversees the organization’s marketing, internal and external communications, and social and educational programming for members.
Loreen began her career just when the Americans with Disabilities Act was being implemented, when she worked to improve the accessibility of the built environments of Albany, the Hudson Valley, and New York City. She ran a grant program that promoted travel training for people with disabilities and has presented across the country on the successful outcomes of this program. Later, Loreen ran a mentoring program for young people with disabilities as Director of the Angela Perez Center for People with Disabilities at the YWCA of the City of New York, where she led the development of the City’s first afterschool program that included young people with physical disabilities.
