MTA Bus Practice Demo for Wheelchair/Walker Users
25 Elm Place, 5th Floor
Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Does the idea of using a public bus make you nervous because you use a mobility device, such as a walker or wheelchair?
Do you wish you could take a bus whenever you wanted instead of having to wait for Access-A-Ride?
Do you wish someone would show you how to get on a bus in a wheelchair without having to worry about interrupting other people’s rides?
Join us on Tuesday, May 8, for a two-hour demonstration designed for people who use wheelchairs or walkers. You will get tips for boarding MTA buses around New York City and be able to practice getting on and off a real, out-of-service bus. You’ll also be able to speak with and ask questions of a real-life bus driver who will be there to help you.
